FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a fishing license in Costa Rica?

Yes, all guests fishing in Costa Rica are required by law to have a valid sport fishing license issued by INCOPESCA (the Costa Rican Fisheries Institute).

The license application asks for personal details, including passport information, which is why it is quicker and more secure for guests to purchase their own license directly.

An 8-day sport fishing license costs @$16.95 USD per person and can be purchased in two ways:

  • Online: Buy your license here before your trip.
  • In person: Available at Marina Pez Vela on the day of your charter.

For general information, visit the INCOPESCA website.

What about Fishing Licenses?

This is a great question and we’re glad you asked. To fish from the banks of the ocean does not require a fishing license. However, once you are in the ocean you will need one and this is how we do it.

What Types of Charters do you offer?

Full-day, half-day, sunset cruises, and custom private experiences.

How many guests can the Vuelto Loco accommodate?

The yacht comfortably hosts up to 10 guests per charter.

Can we bring our own drinks or food?

Absolutely. Just let the crew know in advance so we can accommodate space and storage.

Will I see Whales  & Dolphins?

While there’s always a chance to see whales, dolphins, or sea turtles during your fishing trip, we can’t guarantee wildlife sightings.
That’s the beauty of the ocean… it’s full of surprises! Either way, you’re in for an unforgettable day on the water.

What if the weather is bad?

Our crew monitors weather conditions very closely to ensure your safety and enjoyment. On the day of your scheduled trip, the captain will assess the weather and sea conditions to determine if it’s safe to go out. If not, we’ll be happy to reschedule for another time that works best for you.

Your safety and comfort come first!
