Questions about this charter
When is whale watching season in Costa Rica?
The Central Pacific has two humpback seasons: roughly July to October for whales arriving from the southern hemisphere, and December to March for the northern group. Quepos sees whales across more of the year than most of the country.
How is this different from a group whale watching tour?
The boat is yours. No queuing for a rail, no shared deck, no fixed schedule. It is a private 45-foot Viking with an experienced crew, which is why it costs more than a shared boat.
Are whale sightings guaranteed?
No, and be careful of anyone who says otherwise. Wildlife does what it likes. Our crew track sightings daily and will put you in the best position they can.
How long is the whale watching trip?
Three hours, departing at 8:00am. That is long enough to reach the water where the whales are moving and spend real time with them if we find them.
