Cookie policy

Most sites that show you a cookie banner have already set the cookies before you click anything. This one has not. Until you press Allow, no analytics code is loaded at all.

What is stored before you choose

One thing, and it is not a cookie. Your answer to the banner is kept in your browser's local storage so we do not ask again on every page. It holds a single value, either allowed or declined. It never leaves your device and it tells us nothing about you.

What is stored if you allow analytics

Google Analytics sets its own cookies to tell one visit apart from another and to work out whether a reader is new or returning. We run it with IP anonymization on, so the address is cut short before Google stores it. We use this to see which pages people actually read, which tells us what to write next. We do not use it for advertising, and there is no advertising tag on this site to use it with.

What is never stored

  • No advertising or remarketing cookies
  • No social media pixels. The Instagram and WhatsApp links are ordinary links and set nothing until you click them
  • No cross-site tracking of any kind

If your browser says no for you

If you use Global Privacy Control, we treat that as a decline before the banner ever appears and analytics never load. You do not have to click anything for that to work.

Changing your mind

Clearing your browser's site data for this domain removes your saved choice, and the banner will ask again on your next visit. Declining does not break anything: every page, form and photo works exactly the same either way.
